WEB-i® Joists from Web Joist

The WEB-i® joists are prefabricated all wood I-joists with machine stress rated (MSR) lumber flanges and oriented strand board (OSB) webs. They are a very versatile and economical means of framing floors and roofs in all kinds of buildings. WEB-i® joists are available in parallel and taper profiles.

WEB-i® joists are constructed with flanges made from 2×4 lumber meeting the grading rules specified in Table 4C of the National Design Specification for Wood Construction (NDS). The OSB webs are 3/8″ or 1/2″ thick panels with face grain oriented vertically. All adhesives are exterior type complying with ASTM D 2559.

Lengths of flange material are glued together with a multi-fingered joint to form a continuous flange member and then grooved in the center of the wide face. Sheets of web material are cut into panels of needed depth. The top and bottom edges of the panels are shaped to match flange groove. The ends of the panels are then glued together with a single finger joint to form a continuous web length. The web is then glued into the groove of the top and bottom flange to form a continuous I-joist. The web-to-web and web-to-flange joints are proprietary joints.

Web Joist WEB-i® joists are available in both parallel and tapered profiles.
